Turn a policy document into a plain-English FAQ
Help employees understand a policy without reading 12 pages, while keeping the policy itself as the source of truth.
Want it faster? Fill in a form and open the finished prompt in ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or another AI.
Tools: NotebookLM, Claude. Either works; use the one you already pay for.
Steps
- Upload the policy PDF to NotebookLM. Its answers cite the source passages, so you can check them.
- Ask the FAQ prompt below.
- Click through every citation. Fix or remove any answer that goes beyond what the policy says.
- Add a line at the top: 'This FAQ summarizes [POLICY]. If they conflict, the policy wins.'
- Have the policy owner sign off before sharing.

FAQ from policy
Using only the uploaded policy, write an FAQ with the 10 questions employees are most likely to ask. Answer each in 2-3 plain sentences at about an 8th grade reading level, and cite the section. If the policy doesn't answer a likely question, list it separately under 'Not covered' so HR can decide.Replace anything in [BRACKETS]. AI output can be wrong, so check facts, names, and numbers before you use it.
